Come away from the town and enjoy an atmospheric evening in the Arctic tundra. You will be collected from the hotel and driven to Camp Barentz in Advent Valley, our fantastic wilderness camp about 10km from Longyearbyen, located at the bottom of the Mine No 7 mountain. The area is filled with history from the coal mining period, the 2nd World War and science through the ages. The Svalbard reindeer is a common sight and sometimes the Svalbard ptarmigan also visits the valley. These animals can only be found on Svalbard. The hosts will welcome you inside, where the open fire crackles invitingly. A traditional Norwegian reindeer dish, bonfire coffee and cake will be served while you enjoy a presentation on our most famous residents, the polar bears, and hear our host’s stories from Spitsbergen.
